Job Description
The Charge Nurse is responsible for assisting the Nursing supervisor in providing total patient care within the nursing unit and managing the unit. Duties include administrative and patient care responsibilities, supervising STNAs, and adhering to department policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Valid Nursing license in the state where the facility is located
- Responsible for meeting the state required continuing education hours per licensure period
- Good physical and mental health
- Sincere desire to work with elderly
- Willing to perform non-professional duties
- Level-headed and able to take or give direction in an emergency situation
- Able to prioritize patient needs above own desires or judgement
