Carrier is seeking an Instructional Designer to develop technical training on commercial HVAC equipment and controls for Carrier's internal workforce, customers, and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines strong instructional design, animation, and video production skills with experience with technical audiences and familiarity with HVAC systems and controls.
Requirements
- Conduct needs analyses to identify performance gaps, learner characteristics, and business goals for targeted audiences.
- Translate technical and business requirements into clear learning objectives, structured curricula, and effective assessment plans using adult learning principles and instructional design frameworks.
- Develop technical training and resources on HVAC equipment and controls, including eLearning modules, simulations, lab manuals, job aids, troubleshooting tools, operator guides, quick-start resources, short video tutorials, FAQs, and integrated performance support tools.
- Assess training effectiveness through evaluations, feedback, observation, and performance data analysis, while supporting course enrollment, virtual facilitation, and issue resolution as a skilled Learning Management System (Totara) user.
- Monitor trends in learning and development, benchmarking best practices to enhance training programs continuously.
