Advocate (FT/PT/PRN)

The Advocate provides direct support and guidance to individuals impacted by interpersonal violence, trauma, or crisis. This role includes serving as a frontline contact for clients and community members, offering practical assistance, safety planning, and resource navigation.

Requirements

• Provide crisis intervention, problem-solving, supportive counseling, advocacy, information, referrals, and resource linkage.
• Conduct safety planning and assist clients in identifying immediate and long-term needs.
• Offer support in medical settings, courts, shelters, and community offices.
• Participate in court accompaniment, hospital advocacy, and mobile advocacy as assigned.
• Support clients through case management, individualized goal setting, and service coordination.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate individual or group support sessions as needed.
• Maintain awareness of and respond to emergency and non-emergency client needs in a timely, professional manner.
• Accurately document all client interactions in designated case management systems and databases.
• Maintain timely case notes, logs, and reports per agency and funder requirements.
• Participate in data tracking for service delivery, client outcomes, and grant compliance.
• Assess and respond to emergent client needs using de-escalation techniques and risk reduction strategies.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, courts, hospitals, and other service providers to address immediate safety concerns.
• Apply trauma-informed, solution-oriented approaches to crisis management.
• Attend required supervision, training, and team meetings.
• Participate in peer learning and onboarding of new staff, interns, or volunteers.
• Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
• Support agency initiatives, client events, and program development efforts.
