Provide patient care under the direction or supervision of a licensed medical practitioner, a professional registered nurse, or other licensed health professional, as authorized by the Health Regulatory Boards. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- LPN license
- Collaboration with RN
- Adherence to ANA's Code of Ethics for Nurse, the Nurse Practice Act of Virginia, and the ANA Principles of Nurse Staffing
- Initial assessment and ongoing patient assessments
- Implementation of individualized patient care plans
- Performing treatments and therapeutic nursing interventions as ordered by providers
- Recognizing potential problems and responding to emergent risks
- Initiating emergency resuscitative measures
- Providing care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members
- Providing medication administration following Centra policy for scope of practice
- Evaluating patient responses to care
- Documenting patient assessment findings
- Reinforcing patient education
- Maintaining current competency in nursing specialty and requirements for department
