Legal Services Director

We are seeking a Legal Services Director to oversee the Legal Services Department, providing strategic management oversight, directing the department, and managing litigation and disputes. The ideal candidate is a leader who mentors and empowers staff, cultivates subject-matter expertise, and supports autonomy while maintaining professional standards and accountability. The position requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, admitted to and in good standing with the State Bar of California, and a minimum of seven years of experience as a practicing health care attorney. The salary range is $250,000—$300,000 USD in Zone 1 (Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz) and $230,000—$280,000 USD in Zone 2 (Mariposa and Merced).

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, admitted to and in good standing with the State Bar of California
• A minimum of seven years of experience as a practicing health care attorney
• Five years of management level experience and three years of experience related to health plan operations
• Knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and requirements
