Job Description
The Assistant Basketball Coach position at La Plata High School involves developing an effective coaching program, skill development, practice planning, and supervision of all levels of the sport. The role requires effective communication with coaches, athletes, parents, and administration, upholding school policies, and promoting character, ethics, and good sportsmanship. This is a temporary, non-exempt position with a stipend.
Requirements
- Equitable faculty qualifications - teachers or qualified educators from the local board of education
- State of teacher certification - MPSSAA/MSDE Coaching Certification
- Two years of successful emergency coaching experience
- Previous emergency coaching experience at the school of hire (during the hiring period)
- Knowledge of Charles County Public Schools' Extra-Curricular Handbook
