Job Description
The Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to students with speech and language disabilities. The Speech-Language Pathologist will be responsible for collaborating with parents, teachers, and school support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide consultation and training to school staff and parents. The Speech-Language Pathologist will also be responsible for participating in multidisciplinary teams and maintaining accurate records and following established departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in communication disorders or speech pathology from an accredited University or College program
- Valid license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois Department of Professional Regulations endorsed as a Speech Pathologist
- Willingness to travel to multiple school locations as a citywide speech-language pathologist as needed
- Physical ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
