Job Description
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking a Student Engagement Specialist to facilitate the reconnection of disengaged students to school via academic and social-emotional interventions. The ideal candidate will have experience in social services, health services, education, or related outreach work, and be able to build and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and school communities.
Requirements
- Develop a supportive and trusting relationship with at-risk students
- Conduct a comprehensive intake interview to identify student interests, strengths, and barriers
- Review student transcripts and historical school data to guide school placement recommendations
- Monitor student academic progress, attendance, and behavior, and provide personalized interventions as needed
