Counsellor Supervisor, Camp Towhee

Child Development Institute is seeking a Counsellor Supervisor for its Camp Towhee program in Haliburton, ON. The Counsellor Supervisor will provide support and feedback to staff, help campers experience success through adventure-based programming, and engage in supportive counselling interventions. The position requires a post-secondary degree, experience working with children and youth, and a passion for mental health and learning disabilities.

Requirements

• Two (2) or more years in a post-secondary degree or equivalent experience
• Previous professional experience working within a camp environment, strongly preferred
• Experience working with children and/or youth, preferably our population
• Personal, professional, or educational experiences in a related field (education, recreation, social work, psychology, etc.)
• Experience implementing behaviour/social/emotional interventions and using counselling skills
• Must have a current and valid police record check with vulnerable sector screening
• Must have/acquire Standard First Aid with CPR C
• Demonstrated ability to work in a respectful and aware manner with groups from diverse background and experiences
