Job Description
Counselor Specialist for the Adult Literacy Program at CPC One in New York, NY. Reporting to the Program Director, the role involves working with students, communicating their needs, conducting follow-up assessments, and supporting administrative tasks. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in social work or 3 years of case management/counseling experience, fluency in Mandarin, and excellent computer skills.
Requirements
- Work with students to identify personal goals, strengths, and create pathways towards success
- Communicate with students through phone calls, emails, and WeChat to navigate students needs, questions, follow-ups, appointments, and additional support
- Conduct and document follow-up assessments with students post-completion of classes
- Support administrative team with internal data management, filing, maintaining program records, scheduling make-up sessions, and communicating with instructors
- Attend all meetings and training as required
- Support the Adult Literacy Program and CPC with ongoing advocacy efforts
