Collections Manager

The Collections Manager is responsible for maintaining daily contact with residents, resolving cash application issues, and developing collections status reports. They also work with other team members to resolve and collect payments for disputed charges and ensure key principles of customer service are adhered to.

Requirements

• Daily contact with residents and/or their representatives
• Develop and distribute weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual collections status reports
• Resolves cash application issues
• Research and reconcile resident ledgers
• Works with other team members to resolve and collect payments for disputed charges
• Create, design, implement and enforce debt counselling policy and procedures
• Manage all notices and late fees
• Ensure key principles of customer service are adhered to
• Understands rent collections that considers financial circumstances
• Actively monitors all payment commitments
• Ensure all YARDI and manual documentation systems are accurately updated and maintained
• Prepares court documents and paperwork relevant to rent cases
• Understands Court procedures
• Files and follows through on small claims proceedings
• Coordinates lock outs
• Coordinates inventories and photographic evidence
• Transfers bad debt cases to collection agency
• Maintains continual awareness of changes in the regulation and precedents
• Provides written reports in relation to collection, legal referral
• Liaison between company and collection agency
