Job Description
The Inspector - Mechanical - Plumbing I/II/III position is responsible for performing skilled field and office work involved in enforcing codes and regulations regarding mechanical and plumbing installations. The inspector will inspect new construction, remodeling, and repairs to determine compliance with City mechanical, plumbing, and fuel gas codes, and review plans and specifications to determine compliance with City codes.
Requirements
- Inspect residential, commercial, and industrial mechanical and plumbing installations
- Check plans and specifications for compliance with City codes
- Enforce adopted City mechanical, plumbing, and fuel gas codes
- Issue Stop Work Orders
- Inspect work sites to ensure contractors and workers have appropriate licenses
- Prepare detailed inspection reports
- Operate a City vehicle to travel to various job sites
