The Summer Camp Manager I is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering a City Recreational Summer Camp, including managing camp program operations, administration, facilities, and recreational programs for campers. The position requires seven weeks of on-site work, with room and board provided.
Requirements
- Assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for a City Recreational Summer Camp.
- Plans, organizes and directs the operation of the camp administrative, recreation programs, food service, maintenance and medical care functions.
- Ensures compliance of camp facilities and activities to pertinent codes, regulations and guidelines.
- Establishes and maintains good public relations with citizens, civic groups, and other departments of governmental agencies.
- Prepares or reviews and maintains a wide variety of written reports and records.
- Assists in the development of policy and implements procedures to ensure the health and safety of campers and camp staff.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of camp recreation program planning, development and implementation.
- Knowledge of techniques of supervision, administrative principles and methods, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Ability to plan, organize, assign, direct, review, and evaluate the work of assigned staff.
