Job Description
The Hamilton Fire Department is looking for Volunteer Firefighters to join their team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks including fire protection and rescue services, fire inspection and public education within established policies and guidelines.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or approved equivalent
- Live within the volunteer response area
- Work in a highly structured work environment and follow rules, regulations and procedures of the Hamilton Fire Department
- Meet performance levels as outlined in the collective agreement
- Respond to emergency response calls
- Communicate in English both orally and written
- Possess physical strength and agility to perform arduous duties and operate firefighting/rescue apparatus and equipment
