Job Description
The Assistant Chief Plan Examiner will oversee plan examiners, manage technical staff, and review plans for construction, alteration, or repair of buildings. The role involves auditing reports, reviewing extension requests, and ensuring compliance with building codes, laws, and regulations.
Requirements
- Manage technical staff
- Train newly hired plan examiners
- Meet with owners, architects, and contractors to review project status
- Examine and review plans, designs, and construction documents
- Review FISP compliance reports and other local law related filings
- Prepare objections in accordance with Construction Code and other rules
- Assign and manage workload of technical staff
- Review and approve plan examiner timesheets
- Evaluate performance of plan examiners
- Respond to field emergencies 24/7
- Provide technical advice to senior management and public entities
- Support Engineering Services division cross training and incident response
