Job Description
Public Health Inspector position at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Division of Environmental Health (DOHMH), Bureau of Food Safety and Community Sanitation (BFSCS), to inspect commercial and social service establishments for compliance with public health regulations and ensure a safe and wholesome food supply.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with 30 semester credits in physical and/or biological sciences
- Associate degree from an accredited college with 15 semester credits in physical and/or biological sciences and 5 years of experience as a public health technician
- Ability to carry and constantly use approximately 20 pounds of inspection equipment
- Effective communication skills, excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as computer skills
- Technical and scientific skills
