The Water Distribution Management team is responsible for operating and maintaining the City of Ottawa’s water distribution network. The incumbent will perform manual work to assist unit and management personnel in inspecting, operating, maintaining, and repairing water services infrastructure.

Requirements

• Completed grade 10
• At least two months of relevant experience
• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license (or equivalent provincial license) with no more than six demerit points
• Follow established timelines set by the employer for all in-course employment training
• Relevant health and safety legislation, including workers’ rights and obligations
• Effective communication
• Good interpersonal skills
• Safe use of equipment and tools
• Work effectively both as a team member and independently
• Know how to use a computer and mobile devices
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
• Reliable
• Motivated and flexible
• Willing to acquire new skills
• Organized
• Concerned with safety
• Perform overtime and on-call work
