Job Description
The Deputy City Solicitor – Real Estate and Development Unit is responsible for providing legal counsel to various City Departments, including real estate transactions and development initiatives. The attorney must be familiar with the City’s Home Rule Charter and the Philadelphia Code, and have experience with turnkey development projects, land and title records, and recording law. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent writing and case management skills, and the ability to communicate complex rules and procedures to the public and businesses.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Member in good standing of the Pennsylvania Bar, or currently eligible to be admitted by reciprocity to practice in Pennsylvania
- At least 4 years of legal experience relevant to the subject matter and/or responsibilities of the unit
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent writing and case management skills
- Ability to communicate complex rules and procedures to the public and businesses
