The City of Philadelphia is seeking a Divisional Deputy City Solicitor to manage and oversee teams in the Tort Litigation Unit, defending the City and its employees against premises liability, motor vehicle, and property damage claims. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of legal experience, first chair jury trial experience, and prior experience supervising attorneys throughout various stages of litigation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of legal experience practicing complex litigation in state and/or federal court
- First chair jury trial experience
- Prior experience supervising attorneys throughout various stages of litigation
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency policies, and processes
- Ability to analyze large amounts of information, determine relevant facts, and propose viable solutions
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to foster and maintain a collegial, inclusive, and professional work environment
- Excellent writing, case management, negotiating, and trial skills
