Advanced Practice Nurse (MIDWIFE)

This position located at the Irwin Army Community Hospital in Fort Riley, Kansas. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Student Loan repayment may be authorized.

Requirements

• Serve as Nurse Midwife for an Army Medical Hospital, providing management and care of mothers and babies throughout the maternity cycle.
• Collaborate with Obstetricians and Gynecologists when caring for women with obstetric, gynecologic, and general medical complications in both the ambulatory and inpatient settings.
• Perform accurate history and physical examination on obstetric, gynecologic, and neonatal patients.
• Perform and/or request laboratory, radiologic and other diagnostic and screening tests, interpret results, and assess specific problems/complications.
• Provide inpatient obstetrical care including labor management and vaginal delivery.
• Start intravenous infusions; select and administer appropriate analgesia and anesthesia according to protocols.
• Provide well woman care to include family planning, counseling and the prescription of contraceptives.
