The Youth Mentor/Counselor position provides direct care, supervises, and assists adolescents, acts as a role model, and facilitates groups. The Youth Mentor must be sensitive to unique issues such as mental health, suicide, and contraband. Responsibilities include ensuring physical safety, routine counts, bed checks, maintaining professional relationships, and conducting therapeutic programming.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of experience working with youth, at-risk or court-involved adolescents
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associates Degree or 60 college credits preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license to utilize a company provided vehicle during work hours
