We are seeking a Psychiatrist to serve as a member of an interdisciplinary care team and perform psychiatric evaluations, evaluation and management services, care coordination, assessments, consultations, medication management, and follow-up appointments for adults, and older adults with mental disorders including substance use disorders.
Requirements
- Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited School of Medicine
- Active board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology -or- board eligible status.
- Current, unrestricted, State of Michigan license to practice as a medical doctor.
- Valid and unrestricted Michigan controlled substance license.
- Prior clinical experience and demonstrated proficiency in medical management, crisis de-escalation, and behavior management techniques
- Working knowledge of medical terminology used in a mental health setting
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft office products
- Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHRs)
- Ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to use discretion and judgment when handling matters of a sensitive or confidential nature
- Advanced time management, problem solving, customer service, interpersonal, conflict resolution and skills
- Ability to be forward thinking and take initiative to accomplish goals and objectives of the department
- Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and courteously
