The Registered Nurse role is responsible for providing integrated nursing/medical services to individuals with mental disorders, co-occurring substance abuse, and general medical conditions. The nurse will coordinate care with internal and external providers and provide education on chronic health conditions and disease management.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unrestricted, State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification
- Valid and unrestricted Michigan Driver’s License
- Reliable transportation and current proof of auto insurance
- Prior clinical experience and demonstrated proficiency in providing clinical and nursing services
- Working knowledge of medical terminology used in a mental health setting
- Experience with the application of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in health care organizations
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft office products
- Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHRs)
- Ability to use discretion and judgment when handling matters of a sensitive or confidential nature
- Advanced time management, problem solving, customer service, interpersonal, conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
- Ability to be forward thinking and take initiative to accomplish goals and objectives of the department
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with the usual pressures of managing multiple priorities with time constraints
- Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and courteously
