Structural Discipline Engineer (10+ years)

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Structural Discipline Engineer with 10+ years of experience to lead structural design for commercial building projects. The successful candidate will be an independent, self-motivated, and energetic team player who is looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm.

Requirements

• Experience with computer analysis software systems.
• Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills.
• Experience collaborating with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well-coordinated and high-quality set of structural drawings
• Ability to build and maintain a strong team of professionals and support staff within a cooperative multidiscipline office performing at a high level of satisfaction to clients.
• Design experience with various materials, including steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and light gauge steel and their associated design standards.
• Perform and oversee structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial building projects including complex gravity and lateral systems and the ability to interpret ambiguous code provisions and justify design decisions.
• Manage scope, schedule and profitability of projects and maintain a working relationship with clients.
• Conduct marketing/business development activities including proposal writing and contact negotiations.
• Ability to provide and implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control plans and provide review of construction documents.
• Understanding the realities of construction and ability to propose practical, buildable solutions.
