Cohere is seeking a seasoned Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting to provide strategic leadership for our financial reporting and technical accounting functions. This executive-level role requires a proven leader who can serve as the ultimate technical accounting authority while overseeing all aspects of SEC reporting and shaping the finance department's strategic direction.
Requirements
- Prepare, review, and coordinate S-1 registration statements for IPO readiness, working closely with legal counsel, underwriting teams and auditors
- Lead all SEC reporting activities including preparation and filing of 10-K, 10-Q, and other required SEC documents
- Serve as the primary technical accounting expert for complex transactions including stock-based compensation (ASC 718), lease accounting (ASC 842), and other specialized accounting areas
- Partner cross-functionally on special projects including M&A accounting, system implementations, and process improvements
- Develop and maintain comprehensive accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls at an enterprise level
- Partner with external auditors and coordinate audit processes, ensuring alignment with company strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess accounting treatment for new initiatives
- Set department strategy and vision for SEC reporting and technical accounting functions
- Drive continuous improvement of our accounting infrastructure and reporting capabilities
