The University of Mount Saint Vincent is seeking a Campus Safety Officer to maintain a safe and secure campus environment by patrolling grounds, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding to emergencies.
Requirements
- Conduct regular patrols of university buildings and grounds
- Monitor dormitory access to ensure only authorized individuals are allowed for entry
- Issue warnings to individuals violating rules, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying prohibited items
- Examine equipment and machinery for signs of tampering or misuse
- Monitor departing personnel to prevent theft of university property
- Activate alarms or contact the police/fire department in case of fire or unauthorized individuals
- Record incidents of property damage, unusual occurrences, and equipment malfunctions for supervisory review
- Manage the flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic at entrances and other critical points
- Provide security for major events, such as Commencement ceremonies and Homecoming
- Enforce campus parking regulations
