Paralegal Studies Technical Instructor (Full-time)

The Paralegal Studies Technical Instructor position is a full-time, exempt role at Columbus Technical College. The instructor will be responsible for all aspects of instruction and operation of the Paralegal Program, including teaching face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses, and working with a diverse student population. The position requires effective communication skills, ability to teach a variety of methodologies, and flexibility with scheduling, including days, afternoons, and evenings.

Requirements

• Develops program and course outlines, goals, and objectives
• Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction
• Evaluates students' progress
• Requests and maintains supplies and equipment
• Maintains program certification requirements
• Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met
• Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs
• Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
• Teach and design engaging courses aligned with the curriculum
• Prepare and provide students with course outlines
• Create an effective learning environment
• Collaborate in the development and continued assessment of learning outcomes
• Participate in division and college wide meetings
• Participate in four or more professional development activities yearly
• Collaborate in the development of program and/or discipline promotional materials
• Maintain a minimum of four office hours per week
• Recruit, retain, and graduate students
