The Paralegal Studies Technical Instructor position is a full-time, exempt role at Columbus Technical College. The instructor will be responsible for all aspects of instruction and operation of the Paralegal Program, including teaching face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses, and working with a diverse student population. The position requires effective communication skills, ability to teach a variety of methodologies, and flexibility with scheduling, including days, afternoons, and evenings.
Requirements
- Develops program and course outlines, goals, and objectives
- Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction
- Evaluates students' progress
- Requests and maintains supplies and equipment
- Maintains program certification requirements
- Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports
- Ensures safety and security requirements are met
- Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs
- Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
- Teach and design engaging courses aligned with the curriculum
- Prepare and provide students with course outlines
- Create an effective learning environment
- Collaborate in the development and continued assessment of learning outcomes
- Participate in division and college wide meetings
- Participate in four or more professional development activities yearly
- Collaborate in the development of program and/or discipline promotional materials
- Maintain a minimum of four office hours per week
- Recruit, retain, and graduate students
