Requirements
- High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- 2 years of experience as a staff RN in the area of assignment or demonstrated competency by achieving a minimum of 35 points on the RN Competency Model Evaluation form required
- 6 months of experience as a Relief Charge RN, or in a team leadership role required
- RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required
- BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Certifications as required for the unit CHS HealthStream Course
- ALS-OB - Advanced Life Support OB Program required within 180 days of hire or transfer into position
- BAC - Basic Arrhythmia Course required within 180 days of hire or transfer into position
- NIHSS - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Exam required within 180 days of hire or transfer into position
- Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon entry or transfer into job
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer into job
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Course must be obtained within 6 months of date of hire or transfer into job
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer into job
- Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy/Biotherapy (ONSCHEMO) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer into job
- Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) by the National Certification Corporation (NCC) must be obtained within 1 year of hire or transfer into job
