Job Description
Teacher responsible for providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas, developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines, collaborating with other teachers and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues, and responding to inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.
Requirements
- Adapts classroom work for individualized learning plans
- Administers developmental testing programs and subject-specific assessments
- Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress
- Assesses student progress towards objectives and goals
- Collaborates with instructional staff and community resources
- Coordinates activities such as field trips and lesson plans
- Directs assistant teachers and student workers
- Instructs students to improve academic and daily living skills
- Manages student behavior to provide a safe and optimal learning environment
- Monitors students in various educational environments
- Participates in meetings to convey and/or gather information
- Prepares written materials to document student progress
- Reports incidents and responds to inquiries from various sources
