Job Description
The Bilingual WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor will perform quality assessments, coordinate with WIC centers, and provide counseling and support to breastfeeding mothers and their families. The position is part-time, nonexempt, and grant-funded through the WIC office and Suffolk County Department of Health Services.
Requirements
- Associate's degree and one year of volunteer or work-related experience
- Ability to communicate, read, and write in English and Spanish
- Proficiency with windows-based software and Microsoft Office
- Ability to meet travel requirements and work flexible hours
- Experience with breastfeeding and good organizational skills
