Instrument Electrician

Join Corning, a leading innovator in glass, ceramic, and materials science, and work on a wide variety of maintenance tasks, including electrical and mechanical maintenance. The successful candidate will perform duties such as installation, fabrication, assembly, setup, diagnosis, preventive, predictive maintenance, and troubleshooting maintenance work on plant equipment, services, and facilities.

Requirements

• Works from schematics, prints, sketches, written and verbal instructions.
• Performs work on energized lines, circuits, and connections with a wide range of voltages including 110V, 220V, and 440V.
• May work with voltages up to 12,500V at distribution equipment.
• Operates a wide variety of equipment such as grinders, hand brake, mechanical alignment devices, rigging equipment, bearing pulling/pressing equipment, drills, gauges, meters, feelers, voltmeters, scopes, and other specialized electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Provides cross training for other skilled trades.
• May be a member of a work group or team that utilizes some business skills such as writing and entering work orders, material purchasing, project coordination, quotes, and estimates.
