Optical Metrology Engineer

Join Corning, a leading innovator in glass, ceramic, and materials science, as an Optical Metrology Engineer. Develop and maintain instrumentation and test methods for ultra-precise optical assemblies, collaborating with multi-disciplined project teams and working on-site at one of two locations in the greater Rochester NY area.

Requirements

• B.S. in Optics or Physics
• 5-15 years of experience in designing instrumentation for testing precision optical components systems
• Hands-on metrology laboratory experience and industrial experience in optical metrology
• Ability to function on a product development team of multi-disciplinary engineers
• Experience and understanding of geometrical optics and optical test methods
• Ability to read and interpret drawings with geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Strong presentation and technical writing skills
