Our client is a privately held American manufacturer that specializes in producing high-performance plastic hardware and precision components through in-house processes like CNC machining, injection molding, and mold building. They are looking for a CNC Lathe Machinist/Programmer to set up, program, and operate CNC lathes to produce precision machined parts while ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to blueprints, work orders, and production standards.
Requirements
- Set up and operate CNC machines to produce machined parts.
- Plan machining processes by reviewing work orders, blueprints, and material stock.
- Program lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points and offsets.
- Calculate machining requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; prove part programs.
- Set up lathes by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers.
- Load material and verify machine settings by measuring first-run and sample parts.
- Maintain specifications by monitoring cutting, drilling, grooving, turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations.
- Troubleshoot machining processes by adjusting offsets and controls and replacing or sharpening worn tools.
- Follow quality assurance procedures and address preventive maintenance needs, troubleshooting malfunctions and requesting repairs when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
