CNC Machinist

The Machinist is responsible for operating manual and CNC milling machines and lathes to produce precision parts from castings, bar stock, and other materials, following blueprints, specifications, and instructions for quality and accuracy.

Requirements

• Set up and operate manual and/or CNC milling machines and lathes
• Perform minor CNC program edits using G & M codes
• Machine parts to tolerances as close as.0002"
• Select correct speeds, feeds, tooling, and work-holding methods
• Assist in the design and use of jigs and fixtures
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
• Use precision measuring and inspection tools
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and material-handling equipment as needed
• Verify job documentation and maintain accurate production records
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Work independently with limited supervision
• Participate in required safety training and comply with all safety procedures
