Cricut is seeking a Senior Tooling Engineer to lead the design, development, and qualification of complex production tooling, including multi-cavity injection molds, die-casting tools, stamping dies, and precision fixtures. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in tooling technologies, including injection moulding, die casting, stamping, and precision tooling systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–12+ years of experience in tooling design, development, and manufacturing engineering.
- Advanced expertise in injection mold design, including multi-cavity mold architecture, hot runner and cold runner systems, gating strategies and gate placement, cooling system design and thermal management, shrinkage and warpage control, venting and gas management, mold steel selection and surface treatments.
- Strong experience with die-casting tooling, stamping dies, or progressive tooling systems.
- In-depth knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and dimensional control.
- Experience with mold flow simulation tools (Moldflow, Moldex3D, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD platforms such as Creo, NX, or SolidWorks.
- Strong analytical and hands-on problem-solving skills in production environments.
- Ability to manage multiple complex tooling programs simultaneously.
- Strong technical communication and supplier management skills.
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices.
