Job Description
The Cheer Coach I position at the Hammond Family YMCA supports the enjoyment of cheer by providing high-quality instruction and guidance to children, teens, and adults. The role involves teaching and choreographing fun and safe classes, promoting community within the class, and assisting in membership development and retention.
Requirements
- Minimum age 15
- 12 months experience in participating in cheer training
- Prior experience teaching gymnastics lessons preferred
- Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid and New Leader Orientation
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Passion for learning, working with youth/families, and the sport in general
