Cheer Coach I

The Cheer Coach is responsible for teaching and choreographing fun and safe cheer classes for children, teens, and adults at the Schererville Family YMCA. The coach must have a passion for learning, working with youth/families, and the sport of cheer. The position requires certifications in CPR/AED & First Aid and New Leader Orientation, as well as experience in participating in cheer training and prior experience teaching gymnastics lessons.

Requirements

• Minimum age 15 required
• 12 months experience in participating in cheer training, with prior experience teaching gymnastics lessons preferred
• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid and New Leader Orientation
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Must have a passion for learning, working with youth/families, and the sport in general
