The position of Structural Trades Technician supports the facilities related needs for the College while performing work in carpentry, welding, painting, etc. The role requires advanced knowledge and experience in building construction processes and methods.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge and experience in building construction processes and methods
- Knowledge and ability to perform minor concrete projects
- Knowledge of federal, state and local building codes and safety requirements
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing work priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a diverse environment
- Ability to read and interpret and apply information in technical manuals
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical wiring diagrams
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations as applicable
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when carrying out projects and/or tasks
- Ability to perform work under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment
- Ability to utilize a computerized maintenance management system to document daily work orders
