Compressor Mechanic

Role Overview

The Compressor Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of natural gas compression equipment in field and facility settings. This role focuses on ensuring reliability and efficiency of compression systems by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and supporting safe, continuous operations.

What You Will Do

Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on large horsepower compressor units and engines, inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on compressors, engines, and related systems, conduct preventative maintenance, and work on major compressor components.

Why It Might Be a Fit

3+ years of experience working on large horsepower compressors and engines, strong knowledge of natural gas compression systems and engine mechanics, ability to troubleshoot mechanical and performance issues independently, and familiarity with safety standards and procedures in oil and gas environments.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working on large horsepower compressors and engines
• Experience with compressor brands such as Ariel, Caterpillar, Waukesha, or Ajax preferred
• Strong knowledge of natural gas compression systems and engine mechanics
• Experience performing full overhauls and rebuilds on compressor units
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and performance issues independently
• Familiarity with safety standards and procedures in oil and gas environments
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
