Geographic Information System (GIS) Intern (Summer 2026)

The GIS Intern supports the development, maintenance, and enhancement of Del-Co’s Geographic Information System (GIS). This position provides hands-on experience working with spatial data related to water distribution and associated assets.

Requirements

• Data entry and quality control efforts to ensure accuracy and completeness of GIS records.
• Conducts data collection in the field to include the use of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) equipment.
• Collects, prepares, and digitizes spatial data into GIS format.
• Reads and interprets source documents such as civil engineering plans, plot maps, planning and zoning maps, and legal descriptions.
• Conducts mapping research, in the field and the office, to resolve conflicting information, ensure accuracy of the data, and respond to questions and concerns.
• Perform other duties as required.
