Senior Legal Counsel (Technology) Commercial, Office of the General Counsel

We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel (Technology) Commercial to serve as a subject matter expert for complex technology engagements providing business clients with advice on high value transactions. The role involves drafting and negotiating complex-client transactions, providing advice on legal risks, negotiating cross-border transactions, and working collaboratively with business and corporate clients to deliver the highest quality of service.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree and Law degree
• Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario or another Canadian Province
• 10+ years of work experience as a corporate/commercial lawyer
• Significant hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating technology agreements
• Substantive expertise in technology law
• Experience with IP, privacy and AI is an asset
• Transactional experience within a broad range of sectors
• Proven leader with a track record of coaching and developing others
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently engage with executives
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated consistent thought leadership and strategic thinking
• Self-motivated with a desire to work both independently and in a collegial team environment
• Demonstrated willingness to accept challenges and ability to work well under pressure
