Intake Specialist, Region 6a

The Intake Specialist is responsible for processing referrals and placing youth referred to the Agency by TDFPS and other agencies, promoting the well-being of children, and coordinating with staff from other agencies. The position will serve the Harris County area known as Region 6a.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, or related field.
• Minimum three (3) years in Texas child welfare, preferably with conservatorship, investigations, and/or the centralized placement unit.
• Knowledge of placement policies, procedures, and best child welfare practices.
• Ability to effectively utilize IMPACT Legacy, IMPACT 2.0, and CLASS systems to support accurate documentation and effective case management.
• Skilled in effective verbal and written communication.
• Skilled in building and maintaining collaborative working relationships.
• Ability to work collaboratively with youth, families, collaborating agencies, community professionals, services providers and other staff.
