As a 988 Follow Up Counselor, you will provide follow up support and assistance to crisis line callers, and perform tasks such as intake, assessing risk, providing referrals, and assisting with linkage to services.
Requirements
- Minimum of six months of relevant behavioral health experience
- One year of experience in crisis intervention or suicide prevention strongly preferred
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to empathetically engage with any individual
- Exceptional at multi-tasking and time management
- Ability to use web-based platforms, electronic documentation systems, and communication tools
- Strong typing and data entry skills
- High speed internet with an active Ethernet connection
- Quiet/confidential workspace
- Open availability and flexibility to work within the program’s operating hours
- Reliability and ability to adhere to schedules
- Ability to complete yearly required continuing education trainings
- Knowledge of safety assessment, data collection, and triage
- Goal-oriented team player with strong experience working in large and complex systems
