Data Center Engineer II

Data Center Engineer II at DigitalOcean, responsible for maintaining and growing the physical infrastructure of the DigitalOcean cloud. Onsite position in Germany.

Requirements

• Experience in deploying, maintaining, and working in a data center environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in networking, hardware, and Linux operating systems.
• Proficient in Linux OS, including working with terminal sessions and command-line interfaces.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen aptitude for deep technical dives to quickly and efficiently resolve issues.
• Experience submitting and tracking remote work requests, as well as managing server and component inventory.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Valid driver's license and comfort with driving.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (10%–15% travel).
