Join DigitalOcean as a Senior Data Center Engineer II and be part of a fast-growing team that builds and operates the physical infrastructure that powers our cloud platform. As a Senior Data Center Engineer II, you will deploy, maintain, and scale DigitalOcean’s data center infrastructure, working across the full lifecycle of hardware operations.
Requirements
- Deploying, maintaining, and scaling DigitalOcean’s data center infrastructure
- Racking, stacking, and cabling servers, power distribution units (PDUs), and network switches
- Installing and commissioning servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and GPU infrastructure
- Designing and executing large-scale infrastructure deployments including rack buildouts and cluster expansions
- Supporting new data center builds and expansions through rack layout planning and infrastructure readiness validation
- Deploying and troubleshooting high-density compute platforms including GPU and liquid-cooled infrastructure
- Diagnosing and repairing hardware issues across servers, networking equipment, and storage systems
- Debugging hardware, network, and Linux OS related issues
- Submitting RMAs and managing hardware lifecycle replacements with equipment vendors
- Managing shipping, receiving, and inventory tracking of data center hardware and components
- Maintaining deployment documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Partnering with internal engineering teams to support hardware rollouts and infrastructure upgrades
- Supporting operational readiness for new data center deployments
- Participating in an on-call rotation to support infrastructure availability
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development
