Senior Data Center Engineer II

As a Senior Data Center Engineer II, you'll deploy, maintain, and scale DigitalOcean's data center infrastructure, working across the full lifecycle of hardware operations. The role is remote and requires a strong understanding of data center infrastructure, Linux knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and network issues.

Requirements

• Deploying, maintaining, and scaling DigitalOcean's data center infrastructure
• Racking, stacking, and cabling servers, power distribution units (PDUs), and network switches
• Installing and commissioning servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and GPU infrastructure
• Designing and executing large-scale infrastructure deployments
• Supporting new data center builds and expansions
• Deploying and troubleshooting high-density compute platforms
• Diagnosing and repairing hardware issues
• Debugging hardware, network, and Linux OS related issues
• Submitting RMAs and managing hardware lifecycle replacements
• Managing shipping, receiving, and inventory tracking of data center hardware and components
• Maintaining deployment documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
• Partnering with internal engineering teams to support hardware rollouts and infrastructure upgrades
• Supporting operational readiness for new data center deployments
• Participating in an on-call rotation to support infrastructure availability
• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development
