Senior Database Administrator

Role Overview

The Senior Database Administrator manages all aspects of NTSB's database infrastructure across production, staging, and QA/test environments. This role leads the migration of on-premises SQL databases to Azure SQL, establishes security and archiving strategies, and ensures database performance and availability in support of NTSB's enterprise applications.

What You Will Do

Manage and support production, staging, and QA/test database environments, lead migration of on-premises SQL Server databases to Azure SQL, design and implement database security controls, backup strategies, and archiving procedures, monitor and tune database performance, and maintain and configure MySQL, MS SQL Server, and MongoDB instances.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Must possess or be eligible to obtain and successfully complete a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance, must be a U.S. Citizen, and have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Management, or a related field, or 10 years of database administration experience.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Management, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of database administration experience
• Extensive hands-on experience with MS SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB
• Demonstrated experience with Azure SQL and cloud database deployment
• Working knowledge of database security, backup, recovery, and archiving at enterprise scale
