HS History Special Education Teacher

Dr. Richard Izquierdo Health & Science Charter School is seeking a certified or on-the-pathway special education teacher to provide instruction to high school students in the area of History.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the IEP process
• Ability to write IEP teacher reports
• Exhibit an understanding of and skills relevant to the subject area(s) taught
• Demonstrate an ability to make topics and activities meaningful and relevant to each student
• Implement the alternative teaching model in two content areas
• Progress monitor students’ performance over time
• Link present content/skills with past and future learning experiences
• Use results of a variety of assessments to monitor and modify instruction as needed
• Continuously monitor students’ progress before, during, and after instruction
• Use precise language and acceptable oral expression and written communication
• Model caring, fairness, courtesy, respect and active listening
