Financial Care Counselor - Cardiology

We are seeking a Financial Care Counselor in our Duke Cardiology of Raleigh clinic located in Raleigh, NC to provide direct and indirect care to patients.

Requirements

• Obtain prior authorization/pre-certification for clinic and cath lab procedures
• Obtain insurance verification and inform patients of their financial liability
• Pre-register patients with accurate patient demographics and financial data
• Resolve insurance claim denials/rejections
• Calculate and collect payments appropriately for all patients
• Update billing system account notes and referrals to reflect the current insurance status of the patient
• Reconcile necessary billing and work queue issues
• Assist with department coverage as needed
• Gather necessary information and documentation to support proper handling of billing inquiries and complaints
• Handle cash management and close out other employees cash on a daily basis
