The Mining Estimator EIT is responsible for developing detailed cost estimates for underground mining projects, including schedules and project methodologies. They will attend site visits, collect information, and prepare cost estimates from first principles. The role involves interacting with other departments and external suppliers, prioritizing and planning the tender process, and preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent from an accredited Canadian university
- Registration or ability to register with PEO as an EIT
- Previous underground experience, especially related to shaft, development, raising and/or infrastructure construction projects (asset)
- Ability to learn estimating software package (InEight Estimate)
- Experience with MS Office suite: Excel, Project, Word and PowerPoint
- Valid drivers license
- Valid passport and ability to travel nationally and internationally
- Bilingualism (French, English, Spanish etc) (asset)
- Experience with Primavera P6 (asset)
- Design software knowledge such as AutoCAD or Deswik experience (asset)
